Political Pedagogical Proposal
Besides providing the best professional qualification to our students, CDI’s political-pedagogical proposal aims at promoting active citizenship, using information technology to foster the development of successful citizens, equality of opportunities and democracy.
CDI believes that the true education must be targeted at society’s awareness and transformation, focusing on the construction a fairer and more caring world.
The main objectives of CDI’s political-pedagogical proposal are:
- To provide good qualification courses on the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs ), allowing their social appropriation by the communities;
- To foster awareness-raising and reflection upon the society which we live in;
- To favor the creation of a physical space in which discussions, participation and community actions can be carried out;
- To enable the acquisition of useful knowledge, so that individuals and communities may exercise active citizenship, ensuring social, political and economic development.
CDI’s team works jointly with the educators and coordinators of the community centers housing ITCRSs, better qualifying them through readings, debates, qualification activities and workshops. The intent is that, by making them more aware and knowledgeable of the reality they live in, these individuals may motivate their communities to engage in actions that may transform society.
As for the relationship with the students, CDI’s proposal comes true by means of courses and work teams that are organized outside class hours. The approach’s starting point is always related to the everyday life of all involved – students, educators and the community.
In general, the initial motivation of most students – learning computer skills to get a job – unfolds in others that involve mobilization and organization around claims for public policies that can ensure their rights, such as job generation and investment in social projects.
